Frank had lost most of his money in the great Enigin Scam of 2008. An unscrupulous entrepreneur had managed to convince several thousand people to invest several thousand pounds each in a project that he’d claimed would massively increase their popularity and general interest to the world through a previously unknown online methodology. Charles Enigin had basically set up Facebook accounts for each of his “clients"- for which normally free account he would charge them several grand as a “consultancy fee”. Frank wasn’t going to be fooled after that, oh no, and he plotted how he would take his revenge on Charlie Enigin when he came out of jail.

Charlie was released from the medium security penitentiary on 21 May 2011, having managed to convince the parole board that he sincerely regretted what he’d done and would never do anything quite like it again. His girlfriend Mona had agreed to come pick him up, but as the gates opened and Charlie walked out she was nowhere to be seen. He sighed. Mona was always unreliable, but she was hot stuff and so he tended to forgive her pretty much anything. He’d been arrested without his cell phone so he strolled into the bar over the road and asked if they had a payphone he could use.

The barman pointed Charlie over to where the phone stood against the wall. On his way there Charlie passed Frank - who he didn’t recognise in shades and baseball cap. He walked to the phone and dialed in Mona’s number.

There was no answer, so Charlie put the receiver down and ordered a beer. As he drank it he started to feel quite queasy. Thirty seconds later, he collapsed.

Frank walked out of the bar, feeling quite satisfied. The slow acting poison he’d placed on the phone had worked a treat. Charlie would never fool anyone again. Now, if he just had that number for the guy who’d sold him a Twitter account…
