When I looked into his face my life was forever changed.
My life took a turn and for the best was rearranged.

Loving that little one in that hospital bed.

It seemed as though the world began to melt away.
Everything else seemed to disappear that day.
Anything that I thought had value now was worthless.
Nothing could ever be more important than this.

The bond was instant between this son and mother.
Nothing could ever tear the two of us apart.
This dying love was there from the start.

I will cherish every blink of his eyes.

I will be there for my son until the very end.

No matter what is needed of me,
I will be there to be what he needs me to be.
I will comfort his woes and I will wipe his nose.
I want nothing more than for perfection for my son.

I want him to always know that to me he is number one.
No one will come before this loving child of mine.

I will stand by him until the end of my life.

There is nothing he will do that will cause me strife.
Nothing will cause my love for him to falter,
